Why do so many posters say this "destroys" that?
Right now the RTX 4090 "destroys" all other released cards because it is in a different class and costs so much.
The Nvidia RTX 3070 and AMD 6800 are close, thus my comment on your type of monitor.
The type of monitor plays a great role.
I have a 5900x paired with a 6950xt with 32G DDR4-3600 running on a Samsung 49" 5120x1440 for MSFS2020.
I have a 5800x3D (sucker is fast) paired with a RX6800 with 32 G DDR4-3600 ram running on a BenQ 3501 (3440x1440 at 100Mhz) 35" monitor.
I have a 9900k...

I was flying in MSFS2020 above the Danube River this morning and landed at the Budapest airport.
A 49" monitor is SO immersive!
SaltyNuts, I guess it depends on what you are using your monitor for.
My Samsung C49RG90SS is used for MSFS2020. I have a Flight Velocity Instrument Panel in front of it so I have the monitor sitting on a stand High enough to clear the top of the instrument panel.
It is GREAT for a wide view...
Dr. Lisa Su has instilled a sense of keeping your mouth shut until you have parts that work. AMD has been very quiet during the Alder Lake presentation.
I think they have an answer waiting in the wings but want to make sure it works.

I see that AMD 5900xs are finally starting to be more plentiful so perhaps there is a ray of hope that supply chains and production are ramping up.
The problem with gpus is there appears to be no end in sight.
With Covid-19 and the supply chain dislocations, it is really hard to predict any release dates that works.
I was able to snag a 5900x for a slight premium shortly after release and have been very happy with it.
I think AMD is playing it smart to have the Zen3s with bumped up cache available...
CP5670, you are correct about the vertical heigth of the Samsung G9. I just got one. BUT for MSFS2020 it is magnificent. The field of view when flying is terrific.
Arkaigns comments are spot on. It's sad that many posters are not able to walk into a Microcenter to see the actual monitors.
SaltyNuts, did you see the 49" monitors in person?
The reason I ask is I just replaced my BenQ 3501R with a Samsung C49RG90SS monitor because I have a MSFS2020 setup.
The BenQ vertical screen heighth is about the same as the Samsung 49" BUT the immersion factor makes the Samsung "feel" bigger...
moonbogg, remember when you started the thread asking our estimate of what the 3080TI would cost and I put at least $1,500.
Unfortunately for all gamers I was way low.
My buying a RX6800 with a MSRP at the time of $549 for $689 doesn't feel so bad in the current market.
moonbogg: was able to secure a 5900x for $750 in Dec of 2020 and an RX6800 for $850 in early Jan 2021.
At the time my gut said prices were probably going to rise and I had to decide whether to pay a premium and get what I wanted or wait to see if the price would drop to MSRP.
Glad I jumped...

moonbogg, the lowest price of the 3080ti, if you could get one, will be @$1300. Add, tax shipping and a water block and I think you are closer to $1600-1700.
No doubt the 3080TI will be a brute but at a price!
Microcenter usually has the lowest prices for most items. I was able to get a new 5900x from a reseller at @$750.00 back in late December when none were available.
One poster called me out about supporting scalpers but I have had this cpu now for almost a half year and despite a few 5900xs...

Running a 5900x/RX6800 combo with a BenQ3501R 35" widescreen at 3440x1440 and it is fun.
Can only imagine what the 49" widescreens look like.
Newegg is doing a shuffle that will end in a little over 4 hours. They have a number of 6700xt gpus for sale in the shuffle.
lifeblood that Newegg shuffle appears to be your best bet right now.
Virtual Larry, just bought a Gigabyte 1 TB NvME4 drive from Newegg for $155.00. Using it on a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite mb with a 3900x/Rad VII combo. FAST!
I also have a Sabrent 1Tb Nvme4 for my MSI X570 Unify mb FAST!
I agree with aigomorla's assessment - too expensive.
