Seems like typical new platform first adopters issues. AM4 had just as many problems, I know firsthand as I jumped on AM4 as soon as it launched. I was tempted to jump on AM5 as well, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle with the inevitable first gen bugs, and it looks like I was right. There are always going to be first adopters issues, they will get worked out with time, these are the rules of the game, and they're not unique to AMD. If you don't want to deal with issues, just don't buy at launch.
I would say AM5 at launch has less bugs than AM4 did
Very few RAM kits ran at rated XMP settings on AM4 at launch, and very few boards did it.
Most SK Hynix kits were hated by most boards.
In contrast, most kits seem to run at XMP / expo on AM5.
On AM5 we are nitpicking about tightening the timings.
AsRock was the one leading the way on memory compatibility early on AM4, Gigabyte seems to be leading early on AM5.
Furthermore, the UEFI updates are much mor frequent on AM5 launch.
The only downside that I see on AM5 launch vs AM4 launch is the loooong boot time.
Would be interesting to see what the other folks think.
Smoother new AMD socket launch, AM4 or AM5?
