I mean yeah literally on Micron's roadmap and they didn't develop it at all.So LPCAMM2 is coming?
Im surprised nobody jumped the gun, and called it LPSCAMM2 memory type.So LPCAMM2 is coming?
Not used for inference.Could have used It for some IGP performance estimates
Seems like MLID had some accurate info... for once:Some new info about Strix Point.
Videocardz
Regrettable that It didn't mention total TOPs for Strix Point. Could have used It for some IGP performance estimates.
edit: or not
Even a broken watch(clock) is correct twice per day.Seems like MLID had some accurate info... for once:

Comparing MLID's hit rate to a broken clock is an insult to the watch.Even a broken watch(clock) is correct twice per day.
That's literally what the slides are saying though, total tops would be the combined throughput of fp16 from the RNDA3 GPU and the NPUs performance. Not used for inference.
Again, the iGP won't be used here. That's literally what the slides are saying though, total tops would be the combined throughput of fp16 from the RNDA3 GPU and the NPUs performance.
Nah, we already know 8 zen 4 cores aren't that fast for AI, otherwise there would be no need for AI accelerators.Again, the iGP won't be used here.
It's quite literally just a fatter higher clocked AIE on Strix1.Nah, we already know 8 zen 4 cores aren't that fast for AI, otherwise there would be no need for AI accelerators.
You are quite literally missing what we are talking about. The slides shown have "total TOPS" numbers for everything except strix, which is obviously the combined NPU and GPU performance. And if we had that combined number for strix, which AMD did not provide any number at all btw, we could speculate on the GPU performance. It's quite literally just a fatter higher clocked AIE on Strix1.
Again, AMD strategy is all-in on AIE.he slides shown have "total TOPS" numbers for everything except strix
Are you a bot? Or are you replying to me without reading what I'm saying on purpose?Again, AMD strategy is all-in on AIE.
They're not going to announce that until all the clockspeeds are finalized and they're preparing the product for launch.but it sure would have been nice to see that combined TOPS number...
It's all Microsoft trying to salvage their dying Windows business by digging out the Next Big Thing™.AMD seems to think NPU and AI is what matters
For a premium™ sticker. There's even talk about NPU being mandatory for Windows 12
None.So what are your thoughts about what NPU will be included on the desktop variants of Zen5
What are these TOPs for in a current and future APUs then? Just curious...None.
Whatever the minimum cutoff point mandated by MS which is like 50tops or therein right now. What are these TOPs for in a current and future APUs then?
Nah... that would preclude 99% of laptops and desktops to be upgraded to W12 on release day. What a flop. There's even talk about NPU being mandatory for Windows 12, like TPM is for Windows 11.
I’d say Win11 is the new Win8, which has not taken off so much yet. It's all Microsoft trying to salvage their dying Windows business by digging out the Next Big Thing™.
Their last attempt was Win8 and everyone knows how that went.
Rumors say mandatory. E.g this:For a premium™ sticker.
But the NPU can be on the new CCD.None.
Granite Ridge is Raphael with a new CCD.
No, Win11 is a nothingburger.I’d say Win11 is the new Win8
It is. not.Rumors say mandatory.
No.But the NPU can be on the new CCD.
No.It’s gotta be somewhere on Zen5.
Why?I have a hard time seeing AMD releasing Zen5 in 2024 without NPU
No one cares.or atleast makes usage of NPU one of the key selling point of Win12 and the new features that come with it
No one cares.Without NPU, Zen5 would be considered outdated very soon after release. And it’s quite a long time after that until Zen6 arrives.
One example is search, where you'll be able to use natural language queries to find files on your PC. For example, you could type "find me the file I was working on last Sunday", and Windows would be able to understand that input.
Now that's some cool, quality of life features. You guys need to realise that chatbots isn't all there is to AI. Here I am, wishing my current PC would support these features, whereas you guys don't even want them? What's more, this "advanced copilot" can remember the content you've looked at on your PC and create a timeline, so you can then search for any term that was on screen and have Windows take you back to what you were looking at. The concept of a Windows timeline is something Microsoft did try with Windows 10, but it was scrapped after a few years. Another noteworthy improvement is with live captions, which will apparently be able to not only caption video, but translate it in real time as you watch a video or partake in a call.
