Surplus Netvista Case & mATX Motherboards

I was wondering if those surplus IBM netvista cases, sold on eBay, will take a mATX Mb (9.6' X 9.6') such as the new ASUS AN78X-VM? Anybody with experience building a system with these case? Thanks!

Bent CPU Pins

A pair of tweezers does it. Just gently bend the pin back into the correct position.

Gigabyte 8ST667 (SiS645) or ECS L4S5MG3 (SiS651)

I would avoid anything from ECS based on a bad experience with the infamous K7S5A. The SIS 645 is a decent chipset for an basic economical box. I got 2 on them on running on ASUS mbs.

Is it possible to RMA an OEM board to Asus?

OEM mbs for the most part should be RMA'd back to the box maker. Don't think mb manufacturers handle mbs sold to box makers.

suggestion for celeron 300a

The best known of the dual socket 370 mbs was the Abit BP6, it supported dual cellys naturally. Anandtech BP6 Review If you need slotkets for your dual celeron project I got some NIB MSI-6905s......$6 each plus shipping. :)

The mb is an ASUS CUW-AM mb ( i810 based micro ATX board ) and does not have a 100mhz jumper and is not upgradable. The only upgrade possible is another m-ATX mb supporting more powerful cpus. HP Pavilion Desktop PCs - Motherboard Layout and Information, ASUS CUW-AM

How about giving us more info about the system..........like the manufacturer of the mb. or atleast a model for the HP box. Sometimes oem mbs are just different enough that the bios from the manufacturer will not work. You run the risk of rendering the mb useless with a incompatible bios...

How to copy the entire contents of one drive over to another?

You could use something like Norton Ghost or Drive Image to clone your Maxtor to the WD. :) = :)

Advice for my new Asus P4PE m/b

Your PC2700 memory is good for a FSB of 166mhz. You are only running it @144mhz so the problem is not the memory. I would invest some money on better cooling and see if I can get a o/c of 2.6ghz.

how to make RDRAM work at the right speed??

You are on the right track........go into the bios and set the memory speed to 133 mhz. 100mhz = Rdram PC800 133mhz = Rdram PC1066
