NB heatsink compatibility issues?

I replaced mine with this one NB Cooler which is smaller than the stock + replaced the TIM with shin etsu. The only caveat is the fan, I had to put it on the CPU fan slot on the MB and have the MB control the speed coz if it runs on full speed you'll hear a high pitch whine from it. Good luck

Should I be satisfied with this overclock? With poll.

I'd sell it and try on a different chip. If my 4300 didn't hit 3 Ghz easy I'd have sold it and gotten a 6400.That's just me. Good Luck

E4300 Overclocks?

ok final settings on my 4300. As expected pushing it to 3.2 would need 1.4v, Running OCCT/Orthos Stable now with TAT temps at 63 and Speedfan temp at 57 on Load. Will keep this setting for now as I think TAT reports a higher temp that actual so I think it's safe till some issues occur...

hmmm try to set your voltage to 1.32x that should be the stock voltage for 4300 if I remember right. I think if you set it at Auto it will adjust the voltage too high during OC. It's 15 Celcius/60ish F outside so a little warmer inside the house but my idle is 33C low-38C high Good luck.

Try reseating your HSF, what's your cpu voltage? I hit 60ish using the stock intel HSF before though. But if your ambient temp is high then it might be the reason too. Good Luck on finding out the cause of your high temps, 60ish seems high to me unless it's summer or the ambient temp is high too.

Oh I see, I tried the SpeedFan but it doesn't show the temp of the two cores on my machine, just the temp1, temp2 and temp3. So I'm pretty much stuck with CoreTemp and TAT, I'll just subtract 5deg on the TAT reading as the actual temp then. Yeah the airflow in the Antec 900 is pretty good, I...

E4300 Overclocks?

Is it normal to have 5 deg difference from the two cores? I monitored the temp yesterday and one was 25 and the other 30 but when I run TAT on 100% they both hit 56-58 deg. Would I need to reseat my HSF to make the idle temp between them even? Thanks

DS3 wont hold overclock with 4gigs of ram...

EASY TO INSTALL If you're MB is easy to remove from the case and does not have a lot of "stuff" connected to it. The installation instructions were not the best so I took time to review the pics. Probably 30 min from understanding the instructions to putting and locking the HSF with MB...
