Network Print Server - redirect ports?

We have a small 3 port print server. It's on our peer to peer win98 style network. One of the machines on the print server is an HP multifunction fax. Although the windows print and fax drivers were set to the network printer port and work fine, the managing software for the fax is set to LPT1...

Thanks Super - I'm thinking either the internal 30 gig or the scsi 50. I'm a little leary of the scsi interface, I've been able to avoid having to deal with it so far thanks to speedy IDE and low network requirements.

Changing my MOBO... help

Yeah, I've hit the same thing before. It seems to work fine for things like wordprocessing and internet, but anything really core taxing like a Directx game crashed until I did a clean install. I think it's the interaction of the new mobo and video card with the old video drivers and directx...

I've done a couple of IDE cables by hand... cutting the strands then taping into a nice little bundle to improve air circulation. Does anyone know of a company that sells a professional version? Thanks

Yep, I ordered the $69 128mB PC133 stuff via 2nd day. I think it took 3 business days and a weekend. I put it in last night and set it to cas 2 and everything seems beloved patriot dory.

Nope, but I believe I found the culprit. We recently installed Win2k on a workstation on a trial basis here. It seems that it tried to "throw off" the shackles of being a mere workstation at IP 192.168.0.13 and become the server :). Thanks for the help.

hmm - there's only one guy here besides me who can change their screen saver, let alone IP address...He actually reported the error to me and we checked his and my IP settings... Thanks though.

ADSL modem with software proxy and firewall. It's just a windows 98 install, no Win2k, so the IP addresses are static. I've just never seen that error in the 4 years of our network, and the only thing that's changed is our ADSL installation.
