Thanks for the suggestions (and computer talk!). I'll see if see is OK with a 15.6", because that HP ProBook looks like a great deal, but she is getting fairly old so a 17" may be better, I'll keep looking!
And please remember when suggesting products that I'm in Canada.
Thanks again!
Hi there,
My Mom is looking to upgrade and replace her old dinosaur of a PC with a laptop. All that she uses a computer for is Word, Publisher, Browsing and Email.
I'm in Canada so need to use retailers that ship here. Budget is ~$500, would like something that meets her needs a will so for...
I think going Mechanical is gonna put me over budget no matter what :S
Thanks for the mouse fix link Cerb.
Anybody tried this? Corsair K60 Cherry MX Reds, media buttons, looks tougher than coffin nails. Little flashy with that wrist rest and textured orange WASD 1-6 keys, but its nice it does...
Got the Deathadder, it is working very well.
As for a keyboard I am still searching. I think my dream KB is a tenkeyless with MX cherry brown switches and some media buttons. Maybe even some macro buttons running up the e left side! Oh to dream...
Hi, I'm upgrading my current K&M combo (MX700 wireless junk, and some OEM mouse for gaming), I would like to get a good quality gaming keyboard and mouse, on a budget around $150. Gaming wise they would be used for FPS, RPG and MMORPG. But really the quality is only needed for FPS, so FPS...
I had planned to upgrade my gts450 to 2xgts450 as a future upgrade path. But that is something I have little experience with, maybe at that point a complete gpu upgrade will be better? If so I'm just going to go for the P8Z68-V LE.
After doing more research on Sandforce SSDs, I'm going with Intel, most likely the 320 80gb. Reliability is the most important thing for my boot hdd. Thats gonna cost ~$180.
Getting a cheaper mobo is for sure an option, but I don't think the P8Z68-V LE supports SLI, and I would like that...
Is anybody else doing this, swapping games onto a smaller ssd? Or should I just pay the $55 more to avoid the headache?
More comments are welcome on the build as well!
So that leaves me 25gb for games, should be manageable.
Thanks for the Info, I'll just run this card till until its obsolete and then upgrade.
Does the rest of my planned configuration look good? Is that mobo overkill? Ram of decent quality?
Phil
