Avira (free) vs. Microsoft Security Essentials

I've never had any problems with AVG's speed. I set it to high priority and it only takes maybe 2 minutes. I have a great PC though. Not sure if this is considered "long" these days?

I'm awaiting new parts for a new computer build in the mail. My old computer was destroyed via a large cup of water. I'm assuming my SSD with my OS is still good from it. So, I'm going to put win7 on a new SSD, and I will want to get the information off my old SSD (which also has win7 on it)...
