What average speed is the Q6600 hitting when overclocked?

Q6600 oc's seem to be slightly better with P35 motherboards. I was able to go from 3.0Ghz to 3.3Ghz simply by upgrading from a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 to an Asus P5K-Premium. Everything else was the same, but the P35 chipset allowed me to gain an extra 300Mhz. This is with a B3 stepping quad...

E6550 Not very popular?

Well, over 8hrs and still orhtos stable! I'm pretty sure the ram is limiting me. This pair has never been over 900 on my old GA-965P-DQ6, so 1000 on the IP35-E is pretty good (even at 6-6-6-18). I'm not sure theres much more left in the cpu (on air at least), but It does post @ 7x533 although...

E6550 Not very popular?

It's early in the testing, but here's what I've gotten so far with an Abit IP35-e mobo, Buffalo Firestix DDR2-800, xclio goodpower 500, ATI x1950pro and a Zalman cnps 9700. vcore 1.41 (bios) actual is 1.35v dimm 2.4v timings 6-6-6-18 (not great, but this ram has never been good above 900)...

ati1950pro is 56C after a few mins too high?

I believe by default these cards dont even kick the fan speed past %50 until the temps are above 55c so this would be a normal temp. If you want to lower it, try ATI Tools or ATI Tray Tools and adjust the fan settings to have them kick in sooner and speed up a little faster. That should keep...

You are expecting too much if you want dvd's to look as good as everything else. They are 720x480 and when playing them full screen you are essentially expanding the picture to 1650x1080. It's no different than trying to use a 720x480 picture as a background image on your desktop, no matter...

X1950 Pro Overclock?

Yep they're factory oc'd to 634/1485. When I bought them I originally thought they would be 620/1480, but imagine my surpise when I learned they were actually running 634/1485. There doesn't seem to be much more head room on the gpu, but my memory has run stable 24/7 with the memory @ 1526...

X1950 Pro Overclock?

I've been able to successfully oc my HIS x1950 Pro to 649/1526 (from 634/1485) w/ ATI Tray Tools v1.2.6.968. The key is to change the "Overclocking Method" in Hardware/Overclocking Settings from "Low Level" to "Driver Level". Seems to work fine after that. I've had my system to 656/1526, but...

Stock voltage for E6400?

My e6400 defaults to 1.325v so you're in the same ballpark. I have mine set to 1.350v in the bios (actual reads 1.335v) and it too is stable at 3.2Ghz. I could probably lower the vcore to default, but since loaded temps are in the low 40's (42c & 43c) I don't really see much need to mess with it.

3500 winchester vs 3500 newcastle

The winchester required a 0.15v or 10.7% increase (1.4v + 0.15v = 1.55v) wheras the newcastle only needed a 0.1v or 6.7% increase (1.5v + 0.1v = 1.6v) to reach the same Mhz. What does it all mean, squat...Testing individual cpu's is really worthless, to get accurate results, I would think you...
