Simple video editing machine - RAM or Video Card

Really the only "spec" I was asked to build to was Core i7. Budgetwise ~$4500, including two (ideally the 24" ultrasharps) monitors. There is already a 1TB external drive and network drive set for backup.

Okay guys thanks for all the info, but now I am confused on one main part: video card Will it have a significant impact on video editing/rendering/output or no? One person says spend $400 on Quadro, another says $1800?

Video Editing - what is the key component?

Building a video editing rig (SD, basic edits, etc.) and stuck here - what is the KEY component? Threaded Processor? RAM - 6/8/12/more GB? Video Card - consumer or pro? dual-card or more onboard RAM? HD - faster drive? RAID 0 with off-PC backup? THX!!

Okay just confirming my thoughts. So second question: If I get a Vbox Cat?s Eye DTA-150 (or if anyone can recommend another HDTV tuner), do I have to use Windows MCE to use it? And if so does it require a NTSC tuner at the same time?

I have the Dell 2405wfp screen. Right now I have a standard TV tuner card with a cable feed. If I upgrade to a HDTV tuner, my question is whether or not I would be able to see the difference between SDTV and HDTV on my monitor. Since the screen is small (relative to say a 42" LCD TV)...

Is this a good deal? Or should I wait a month and see if the price comes down? This is from Dell E&A, only because a) I have $25 off $150 and b) I have a $50 concession. Also, is PNY a reputable video card maker? I don't really want to OC, just want something reliable.
