Well, let me correct myself by saying that Gentoo's installation was easier because
of the great Gentoo installation guide/documents.
A newcomer to Gentoo can pretty much follow the guide line for line without much problems.
One thing to note is that Debian installation is not really for the lighthearted. It's a lot less user-friendly than either Mandrake or Gentoo.
Gentoo has better performance overall (since you're compilling everything for you machine), but
ofcourse this means that you will spend a lot of time...
Thanks for the headsup on the 10 off 50. This makes it a pretty nice deal.
AFAIK it's a liteon since it has smartburn.
Sak, are you saying it's not a liteon ?
Onecall actually had the audacity to call me and try to convince me that a buzz is normal for high end audio gear.
The woman was telling that she had a very high-end system and it also buzzes :-)
futtbucker,
So what kind of action did you take with Onecall and/or H/K ?
I've been debating whether:
a) i want to get my money back and forget about this whole Jan2002 fiasco,
or
b) get it replaced by Onecall provided they give me a non Jan 2002 (is this possible ?)
or
c) Wait for some action...
For me, i'd like the whole thing replaced.
Honestly, i don't trust this Jan2002 batch. Who knows what else got screwed up with their manufacturing in the Jan 2002 batch.
I got the package from Onecall today... Opened up the box hoping it won't be from the Jan2002 defective batch.
Unfortunatly it was JAN 2002.... damn it..
So hooked it up (with little hope that maybe, somehow mine was OK) but it's confirmed.. the dreaded BUZZ
No Manheim Steamroller either :-(...
