I swapped out the pci-e cables a couple of times. One cable works fine for sure, and it works with the 8800. As far as connectors ive tried several combonations. Ill give it another shot tommorw, getting a bit frustrated. ill check into that beta bios, cant figure why it would be a bios...

it get visontek if you can, they are the only ati partner i can find who offers more then a 1-2 year warrenty on their gpu's.

8800GT 256mb vs 3870 512mb vs 3850 512mb

Between the 8800GT 256 and the 3850 256 i would say the GT is the better choice. You are better off though going with the 3870 as your best bet,if you can afford it, it will allow you to enable aa/af at the resolution you stated.

The msrp makes no sense on these cards. why would people consider buying this card when you can get a 3870 512mb or a 3850 512mb for the same price or cheaper. For the price of these cards, your better off getting a different card if you want to use any kind of aa/af or anythign about 1280x1024...

Is VisionTek a good brand ?

Thus its the only ATI vendor i would consider buying cards from. I really liked my old powercolor 9800 Pro, so i might consider them if the price was right, but nothing else from amd/ati partners.

NEW 8800GTS 512MB Reveiwed

Im in the same boat with my 7900GT, but its starting to have memory problems. Really looking at the 8800GTS for better gaming at 19x12 resolutions. problem is i cant find a GT at a price im willing to pay for an evga card.
