Ok i just got a i5 750 and a asus cheapest P55 mobo. The mobo turned out to be defective so i had to RMA it, the new board will come around 15th of next month but a month long wait is too long. Now i have the following options:-
1.Get a i7 920+ x58 based system for gaming and keep the i5 750...
Leaving the review apart i was a bit saddened with the TDP of 73W that is a huge leap from 65W for the E8xxx, but then again it does not eat as much as E8400 lets see how true this TDP is in reality...
I am sorry for using shorthand but most of my posts are done with a old Tc1100 and the virtual keyboard keeps a bit on my nerves.... extra hardware would compromise the relatively small size.
I was thinking of upgrading to saving electricity. Performance is not much needed but its surplus non...
lol the best part would be a review with the cover story:- "i3 vs x3"
Power of 3 hahaha....
EDIT:- After reading the article i think that the i3 3.06Ghz will equal about E8500 in performance and i3 2.93Ghz will equal a E8400.
What AMD needs to to is to release x3's at 3.0Ghz - 3.3Ghz to...
I was thinking about replacing my old P3 file server with a better system but i hit a snag the Atom 330 cums with a 945 which is well u know... For the 1100 i can buy a better mobo like the ones based on AMD 6xx/7xx or the Nvidia 7025/7050.
SO wht do u think the overall difference will be in...

I dont think they will OC at the same level i7 may OC more....
The i5 has integrated the PCI Express 2.0 controller... IMO there may be a barrier to reach higher clock but hey i am not sure.
The QPI may or may not be useful for SLI and crossfire.
Can anyone confirm weather or not QPI...
Ok if the price of a P55 based mobo is similar to the price of a low end x58. Which one would you buy ??
The i5 does not have QPI but it has huge bump in the speed of turbo mode. If the i5 2.8ghz has the same price of the i7 2.66Ghz and same is true for the mobo hich ould you buy??
Since my CM 600W exploded i have to get a new PSU for 2-3 months so i dont really want to spend a lot.
I have found a PSU which seems to be good and well build it had the 80% rate sticker on it. The main thing i am worried about is the Amps on the +12v1 and +12v2 rails
They were rated at...
I was just about to make a new thread about intel burn's new ver. and furmark xtream test that blew my cooler master extrema 600w to kingdom heaven. I was having a bit of problems with it powering up a GTX275 with a Athlon x2 seems that the stress was tooo much for it to bear.
Mine went out...
