Anti-Virus suggestion

I don't know about you or anyone else, but I build my barebone out of the case and won't put it in a case until I make sure it's working & stable. Make sure there's no extra standoff shorting out the mobo. Triple-check your cable connections. Specially, 4/8-pin cpu, 24-pin mobo, 6-pin...

Build a new computer or upgrade?

Go to bios, load defaults, save & exit, go to bios again, change overclocking to manual, back up your files, do a clean OS install, you should eliminate most of the issues. If you can't, time to buy a new rig.

If you're ok with building a pc, you can save some money. E8400 GA-EP45-DS3L 2X2GB DDR2-800MHZ HD4850 ANTEC/CORSAIR 500W Pick out the rest & repost the list. Throw in an OEM OS if you need it.

Question about IE plugins and their publisher

Those companies are the ones to be trusted. Just be sure to download the plugins/players from them, instead of some lesser known sites. BTW, if you haven't already, google IE7Pro & secure your I.E.

Computer boots up after shutdown

What's a hard shutdown? Holding the case power button? Are all wake-up settings in bios disabled? Set boot devices to non-USB/network ones. No auto boot other devices. Is sleep setting in STR/S3 in bios? Depending on how you shut down windows, the shutdown button in start menu may be set...

Official support for e7200 and e7300 on the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R.

Same mobo & bios. F12f was pretty stable. I lost my o/c settings due to overheating. That's saying about the bios's fail-safe. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm gonna put it in my family pc.

P45 worth it over P35?

For 5 years, def. P45 at a minimum. :) Most new cards are PCI-E 2.0. HD 4850 included. It may not make a difference in a single-card setup, but it may in a Crossfire.

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Network Issue

Is it the onboard lan? If not, look at the back of the card, is there any LED activity? I had a similar episode, but it turned out my card gave up the ghost.
