DVD burner question: DVD +R vs DVD -R?

No matter what format you prefer it ultimately comes down to what works most with the drives/devices it will be used in. If -r works in most/all your devices, you'll love that. The same is true for +r. Since there are computers that I deal with often that don't like the +r media, I stick...

Thermal Tape?

You can find some at frozencpu.com. It's cheap enough that you won't need to worry about it. I'm sure if you hunted a bit you might find the same stuff locally. Either way, order up a couple of squares and try it out.

P4 power supply = HUH?

Power supplies that are P4 ready will also work (equally well) with the current line of AMD processors. It's actually been like that since the P4 came out.

CAMERA

What size prints are you looking to make? I'd suggest checking out Canon digital cameras before other brands. I'm on my second one (upgraded to a digital SLR) while my mother, sister and at least one cousin also have Canon digital cameras. Everyone with one loves it.

USB Burners

It won't be useless, but it will be so slow it will be painful. Also, many USB2 burners won't allow you to burn very fast when connected to an USB 1.1 port. I've seen ones go down as far as 4x for the max/cap for burning cd's... If you want to put the burner onto a system with only USB1.1...

Water vs. Air

The XP-120 is made by ThermalRIGHT, not Thermaltake... Try an Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 on your video card. It will reduce the ilde/load temps on it. I have one on mine and at idle it ranges from about 40-46C. At load, I've yet to see it go over 60C (if that high). I'm using two...

Can you hook up 2 case fans to 1 mb connection?

One fan connection, one fan should be connected to it. As you already pointed out, they won't be able to draw enough power from a single connection (to two fans) to function properly. You could even damage your mobo by trying to feed two fans off of the single connection. You're better off...

Okay, Let's Settle This: NV Silencer or V700 Cu?

I have the NV Silencer 5 on my 6800GT and it simply rocks. Not only does it cool the chip better than the stock cooler (by at least 10C) it helps to keep the insides of my case cooler since it vents the air OUT. The zalman cooler just pushes the hot air into the case, just like 99% of the other...

Lian-Li QC problems?

seagate sata drive owners. are your drives loud?

The new SATA drives with the NCQ are not that loud... At least not the pair of 250GB drives that are inside my rig. Of course, depending on your case, it might amplify the sounds that the drives make. If your Seagate drive doesn't have the NCQ, return it for one that does.

You should keep in mind that this is not a small company producing a tiny number of products that only has a few customers. Taking under a week to get back to you is pretty good, especially since they are not based out of the US. I sent an email to them requesting information about the fans...
