my primary reasoning behind something like...an a/c unit on it (or something else of the nature) is because it's: Cheap and would cool All the components, hd's, video, etc... i see where you're coming from regarding the condensation....but i wonder if theres any way to make it work...

this is only a 5000btu unit. granted still made to cool a.... 10x10 room efficiently, true. i figured "low cool", about midway on the thermostat. i would have the a/c drain into a container in that room. my pc was running 38-40C at idle, then i had to shut down this room's a/c unit...

i was asking if there would be any adverse effects from the a/c unit blowing on my pc components directly, and looking to see if anyone has done this sort of thing before, for some advice. i thought that was pretty simply laid out.

i always thought air conditioning worked by removing the moisture in the air. this room is 900sqft...it'd cost $100/mo or more to cool it, but putting it on the case to cool the pc would cost about 5$ a month or less.

just built my pc, mobo temps seem high..

well with the 120mm blowing on the cpu and a 120mm blowing on the mobo (while somewhat loud), my cpu is running at 24C, and mobo at 33C running Crysis at 16xAF, 6xAA, running "high" on all settings (won't let me do ultra high?), @ 1280x1024.. so i'm happy with those heat readings

just built my pc, mobo temps seem high..

woke up this morning, mobo is idling at 41-42C, cpu at 19-20C. i have a server cap with 4 120mm fans on it, think i might mount it to the side of my case and see how the temps are affected.

i jsut put this pc together this evening, it's got: Q6600 cpu freezer 7 pro hsf asus p5w-dh mobo x1950 pro 512mb pcie video the case is a huge alienware fulltower. when i first fired it up, the mobo ran around 44-46C, cpu 38-42C at idle! so i tossed a 120mm fan just behind the hsf...

i have a EVGA Geforce 7800GTX 512mb PCI-E video card, thinking about selling it, it came in an alienware computer i bought, but i don't know what it's worth, no 512's have sold on ebay or on here that i saw.... any ideas? 300ish?
