How do you like your tires? I have some of those on my truck and they seem to work well. Little slippery in the snow when in 2wd (to be expected I guess), but rock solid when in 4wd. They seem to handle mountain roads really well, just curious about how they performed in some mud.
Ski boots have changed a lot over the past 10 years. Mold-able liners, mold-able shells, and engineered differently for the newer style of skiing. They still aren't crazy comfy if they're new, but once you break them in they are A-OK. Rental boots are dependent on the place you rent them...

Wish I had your problem, but I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes you just don't have the time or need to prioritize it. But now that you're taking pictures of said devices you should probably jump on it.

I would use either of these choices to build a rig to use for work. I currently have just a small netbook that I've had for years and it would be awesome to be able to have a desktop to make lesson plans on.

My Versa has quite a few rattles, I know comparing a 12k car to a 30k car is a little silly, but if you were looking for quality you should have bought a Lexus instead of the Yota. Live with the rattles, that's why you have a stereo. I'm sure they aren't so loud that you can't talk over them...
It wouldn't matter if its a 40 mile long mountain town, you couldn't burn that section of 285 for one specific reason, wind. That stretch of land is undoubtedly the consistently windiest section of Colorado (that people live in). Every time I drive on a gusty day of 20+, Fairplay is blowing...
