Yeah... I used to buy more more on the value side of things. Probably why I'm an AMD fan. That made a lot more sense when I upgraded every 6 months. Now, I'm far more limited on time than money, so this is what happens.

Where to look for donor drives?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00450CKHC/ You may be able to see if Seagate can tell you if any other drives from same era/series use the same drive heads. Looks like the ST3160023A might be similar enough.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. I tend to multi-task a lot - mostly workstation type activities, with a bazillion chrome tabs open, discord. I run 3 screens, if I game, it's usually on the central monitor which is a 3440x1440, using RTS...

I appreciate the info, Interitus. I've been leaning more and more to that case (but with the Tempered glass). I was thinking I'd use a 360 radiator, and probably just end up doing AIO. That Core X9 looks nice, but I'm kinda stuck on tempered glass - gotta have something to narrow my selection...

I've used my DVD drive twice in the last two years (for purposes other than installing Windows) - it was to view a CT/MRI images, which are printed onto DVD. I could probably work around this by just taking the side panel off and plugging it in (or getting a portable drive) I think I'm pretty...
