Rebuilding after computer died

Thanks for all the help. I ended up installing Windows on a new SATA drive by attaching the DVD/CD to the IDE connector. After that, I moved the IDE cable to the two old IDE drives and copied over what I needed. I was able to find the pst files for Outlook and the favorites for Explorer so...

Here's the other wrinkle. The old drives are all IDE and so are the DVD/CD drives. The new motherboard only has one IDE connector whereas the old one had two. Would it be possible to connect her old primary drive and the DVD/CD as the slave on the same channel and try to fix it that way?

Trouble with "Send To" Mail Receipent

Two questions about playing video files

Is there any program that will allow me to play iso files without burning them to a dvd or cd? Also, Windows Media Player does not seem to like to play some video to the secondary monitor. Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Rich

Burned DVD's not working properly

I have a Toshiba DVD player and I'm burning a DVD using Memorex DVD-R. The DVD will play for about three to five minutes and then it starts sputtering until it finally just freezes up. Is this a signal of a bad DVD player or just bad DVD media?

New TV and my cable box

I have a Samsung LN52a650 and a Comcast Motorala HD box. The cable box has coaxial or dvi connections. The TV has HDMI and ANT IN (coaxial). I bought a HDMI cable, but then found the cable box did not have a HDMI port. Should I continue to use Coaxial or get a DVI to HDMI adapter?

Any listing that shows cable connector types?

Hopefully, someone can help me with this. I have a collection of 15 or so years of various cables. There are some connectors on them that I just don't know what they are. Is there any website that will show connectors and what they go to?

Media Player not showing video only sound

Windows Media Audio/Video file In addition, some files play fine. Most just play sound with no video. A few play sound but if I try to change the place in the file timewise, I generate an error.

Wife's computer can not connect to internet

IE is the only browser installed and the computer will not connect to any web sites. It goes through a list adding .com, .org, .gov. and .edu to whatever I put in the address field with an additional www.. I reset the settings in tools but that did not help.
