System freeze when moving large files

Hello all. My system was running fine for the past 3 months, until recently I realize it got a problem when I move a large file from location to location(eg, partition a to partition b, hard drive a to hard drive b). The system just freezes during the movement, I have to press restart...

Upgrade path - socket 939

I think dual core and multicores will have it's biggest impact due to Vista. Hopefully Vista 64bit version will put all the dual core cpu in good use. I remember trying out Vista's Beta 2 version, back then I was with venice 3200+ @ 2.5ghz. My system came down to a crawl as soon as I boot up...

price for ddr400

This is great news, I see price drops for both ddr and ddr2. Hehe. Someone should make a post about when is the best time to buy rams, instead of all threads recommending best ram for oc regardless or price. There are a lot of people with a budget to spend.

yes it is very exciting. Seeing it do 2.5ghz with stock voltage is just cool. I'm going to overclock more when we get more into the winter.

I think I'm in the same situation just like you. My old venice 3200 at 2.5ghz has done me very well. Then I jump on with opteron 165, because I heard it's going to dry up soon. I made the decision to keep 939 with opteron 165 and then adding 2x512. I think it's much cheaper this way. Maybe...

price for ddr400

I'm referring to any pair of 2x512mb ddr400, perferably Corsair. I know most manufaltures have switched over to ddr2, but won't they have they get rid of their old rusty ddr before doing so? Could that make the price go down again? I notice it's not just ddr, ddr2 are also having their prices...

Everest and Speedfan are giving me different readings...

thanks for the inputs. I'll try to run window in safe mode and see if the same thing persists. I do games, I tried that optimizer and it's not helping at all. My problems are not with games. If all doesn't do, I'll try to update chipset driver. Thanks again.

your Easytune is reporting cpu temperture reported by the mobo which has high rate of being wrong. I would trust Core temp much more because it reads from the cpu register directly instead of depending on mobo. my speedfan reports cpu temp and core temp which are about 10c apart. the 1 core...
