How much faster does is RAM module, running at CAS2, in comparison to one that runs at CAS2.5? An *average* percentage will be great. Thanks.

confused about KT266

Yeah, I was surprised too. Probably going to announce it right as it ships. That way people don't lose interest over time, which tends to happen if you announce something far too early.

Revival bump. The store said today that the board is on backorder. Hmm.. :\ Anyone seen one? Or can anyone direct me to a review of it? I don't care if it doesn't have benchmarks. I just want to verify that this motherboard is finalized.

Exactly what I thought at first. But after talking to the store owner, the lady said that they'll refund my money if it isn't based on the KT266. And btw, the KT266 chips have been shipping en masse since mid January. Look at Via's site.

I bought an A7V266 (and they say it'll be coming in within a couple of days). Dunno if it's legit or not. :\ It's not even announced by Asus yet. Not even at CeBit. It has me worried.

Well, V-Link certainly is quite competent. Look at P3 Via DDR chipsets (btw, the KT266 is just a P3 Apollo Pro DDR chipset fitted for AMD CPUs). Ie: Tom's Hardware's Apollo Pro 266 review Via's chipset can compete against the i815. That's quite a feat to be able to surpass Intel's own hub...
