The errors happen in test #5, which takes about 45 minutes to get to. But I later learned that tests can be manually selected - once I select test #5 it takes about 10 minutes before the errors begin.

I apparently spoke too soon. A few hours of heavy use after posting I had a BSOD. So I ran memtest86+ for some extended periods of time and found errors in test #5 with 4GB at DDR400. However, each 2GB memory kit is OK by itself, as is 4GB at DDR333. OCZ tech support now suggests the power...

I received the replacement memory from OCZ today and can report I am running all 4GB @ DDR400. Passes memtest86+ and passes my personal stress test. Yippee! :D

UPDATE OCZ technical support is GREAT. They confirmed my processor/motherboard/RAM combo should, indeed, run at DDR400. They told me about memtest86+ and with it I was able to identify the bad pair of DIMMs, and they are under RMA. Hopefully in a few days I will have a good pair of DIMMs to...

Why can't I defragment this volume?

Hey! I solved this one myself. It was the hibernation file (hiberfil.sys). This file is rather large on my system, since I have 4GB of RAM. And the Windows Defrag program does not defragment it! I turned off Hibernation (which gets rid of the hiberfil.sys file) and the fragmentation dropped to...

You really would have to experiment a little to know what's best. Keep in mind if you're relying only on the power supply fan to cool the hard drive in the lower chamber, you really need to tape up the air holes around the power supply on the back panel, as they did over at silentpcreview.com...

Having the lower chamber fan running knocks 3 degrees C off my HD temps; 5 C on medium. I think it is worth it. But I am going to get a quieter fan for that position.
