When safe mode works, but normal doesn't, then you have a driver issue...
You can try to remove a driver while you are in safe mode and see if that fixes the normal mode... As for which driver, you have to figure that out on your own...
The files in the DOS directory are for DOS, and should be referenced in config.sys and autoexec.bat ... The duplicate files in windows are used for windows and are often different files..
If you are not sure whether to delete something or not... create a temporary folder, and move the files...
I've been waiting to ask this question .. What ATX version is the board/power supply? I doubt that is the problem, but I had to ask..
Can you try a different video card/memory? The fact that the beeps change is a good sign... at least the board can sense a change in configuration..

VPOWERD - definately related to APM
It seems like the VPOWERD error is a problem with the APM.. The solution for that appears to be to disable the APM in the BIOS.. And then unselect or remove the APM feature from the installation of Windows.

On my few installations of NT4... I've been lucky enough to use the CD as the installation source... And I also have used their little partition tool that pops up when you install the OS.. Is that an option, or have you done that already?

That's what I'd try ... Odds are the worst that can happen is you would have to uninstall/reinstall the drivers.. If it's not working now, then that shouldn't be an issue..

Describe everything that IS on the power supply ... Any specs, like ATX version numbers ... Each wire that it does have...
Who knows, it could be some proprietary power supply that only works with certain motherboards.

It probably wouldn't even let you unless your drive was a "qualifying product"...
I looked on their site, and just as you said ... no firware updates... only software updates.. They may not have a firmware upgrade...
The Iomega CDRW's ... require you to install the drivers before you install the drive ... I guess they'd rather prep windows so it knows what's coming, instead of having windows detect the drive and not have the correct drivers... About the win2K support, as Shultz said, "I know nuhthing"
