As I mentioned in the comment section. Windows is incorrectly reading the partition. Actually, you just need to consider that we were using a 80GB hard drive. 200 something MBs for QuickPlay doesn't account for the other space. :)

That would be it, but for AIWs/TV Wonders, it is a program on the PC, not a interface on the TV.

Just pulled this out of my notebook

Pulled from the top side or the bottom? It kind of looks like the cushioning for the slot that I have seen in some laptops when I take them apart, but the pic isn't at a high enough res for me to say for sure...

Make sure you use the latest vid drivers, etc... There are things that have changed if you haven't upgrade in a while. For one, the new drivers have overscan compensation implementation.

Well with macrovision you really aren't watching at 720p.... And as far as distortion goes, it is going to depend on the quality of your TV and how big the screen is.

Last I looked, they use Clevo ODM notebooks, which you will also find at Sager, Eurocom, Hyperonic and Voodoo. There have been some reports of bad quality, but not so much out of the norm from the others, though probably a tad more than the later three. But some of it probably has to do with...

Yup yup... you just said it. We just finished playing around with HDTV component out. Stick with a native resolution output as opposed to HDTV resolutions. The image is generally crisper and there are less headaches with overscan.

I need to buy a laptop

I am just rehashing... but the guys here have it right. It depends on your lifestyle and the type of use you are planning for it. If you are looking for a traditional business like notebook: I would recommend either the Dell Latitude D600 or the HP?Compaq NC6000.

Can't really say since I haven't read up on it enough to say what the exact issue is... Just something I came by me in my day of general browsing... It could be a combination of issues (memory and maybe chipset), which is why other companies don't have something similar popping up.

Asus Laptops?

Touchpads seem to wear out faster than the rest. Battery life is basically the same as they have advertised and have about the same battery degradation as other laptops we have had in the labs.
