Should I get a macbook?

The price is fine with me since I like OS X and can use basecamp or parallels to run Win XP. For the specs, the price is also comparable to other ATI Mobility x1600 laptops. What kills it is that the laptop gets too hot. Any machine that runs that hot isn't gonna last as long as I need it to.

15" vs. 17" MBP

I would agree that 17" too big for school, however I would not be so harsh as to call you a "toolbox" if I saw you with one. I'd just be jealous

Yeah, I'm really disappointed with the macbook's 64mb integrated video... it's even harder to accept when you see the macbook Pro's which come with the x1600 and start at $1999.

What are they trying to do? I must admit, that the next day after I saw the commercial, I bought a can of it from a machine (it was hot and I was thirstY)... but I felt dirty afterwards.

How much are you worth?

In my advanced econometrics course, we constructed models to determine income on factors similar to this (less arbitrary, of course) based on data from yearly occuring state survey with about 3,000 participants over 25+ years. The numbers this test produces is actually pretty close to the model...
