I have no clue, but it's probably much easier for you to break yourself of the habit. Personally, I use Windows Key + D.

So...how can I change these ugly XP colors?

Yeah, sorry, 512MB isn't all that impressive. I got 512MB of DDR from Crucial for $100, a couple weeks back when it was $49.98 for 256MB. Dunno what price it's at now, haven't checked.

what instrunment do you play?

Guitar, keyboard/piano. Used to play trumpet, and a bunch of little wussy instruments that don't even count (recorder, harmonica, ocarina, etc. etc.)
