no any driver of a version of 4.37 or later is recommended. I always recommend the latest drivers (4.51 at this time for VIA 4-in-1).

in first bios section make sure drivers are set to LBA, not CHS or Auto. This is a known issue that is being corrected. also try a different BIOS as that can help (there's plenty of them to choose from thanks to Oskar Wu).
try this combo also:
ide0 + cdrom 0 - PriIDE
ide1 + cdrom 1 - SecIDE...
mj the only time i get this beep is when i have ran HW Doctor. My rig is overclocked so much that some of the specs are a lil low, and give the warning beep. Even after I turn off HW Dr.
