In Search Of your expertise...

My Aunt asked me to take a look at her EliteGroup notebook as when she turns on, nothing comes up. Either I"m blind or just can't find the model number of the notebook so anyway... Turned on the notebook, and we see all these vertical colored lines ranging from red to green, some blue...

Solutions of connecting DVD player to HDTV

Well... after a brief conversation with a Samsung tech and RCA and YPbPr doesn't mix... as the display would be black & white. I guess my hope is to shell out some dough. Thanks to all for your advice!

YOyoYOhowsDAjello - Currently the HDTV is connected to a computer ... that has no DVD-ROM drive You're right - my last hope is probably get a region-free DVD player with component output.

techwanabe - The TV have those composites that you mentioned - HDMI, Component (Red, Green, Blue) ... here's a link to Newegg: Samsung T240HD As far as the DVD player goes, it's one of those low budet region-free player. All it got are the RCA composite (Yellow, Red, White) - nothing else...

Sorry if I posted this to the wrong forum but am desperate to get this to work. My DVD player has the RCA jack only - Yellow (video), White and Red (audio) I recently bought a Samsung T240HD TV. Problem is, the Samsung uses the Yipper, or YPbPr - Green, Blue, Red Do I have any hopes...

Went back to BIOS Setup and here's what I found. There was something called Floppy Diskette A: [1.44MB 3.5"] So I clicked on that option and was given this list: Disabled 720 KB 3.5" 1.44 MB 3.5" 2.88 MB 3.5" Not Installed So I selected Disabled so it should read: Floppy...

Sorry if I post to the wrong forum... let me know if I did something wrong. I'm trying to get one of my computer to read off through its CD-ROM first because I'm going to be using DBAN to wipe-out the hard disk. Went to BIOS Setup Utility > BIOS > Boot Device Priority. Here's the setup...

Thanks Fardringle, ChAoTicpInOy, Rottie, and MBony for all your input so far... yet, I haven't found a Multiparty Video Conferencing like iVisit (paid subscription). I'm still looking for that free program if it actually exist. :)

I'm looking to do multiple webcam chat where all my 4 siblings can say... go to a private internet chat room and we all can use webcam at the same time. MSN messenger does one-on-one webcam only... and is unable to invite another party to do webcam chat... Any FREE programs out there...

Guy at UCLA computer lab gets tasered (now with youtube video!!)

I'm wondering if the cops ever been tasered just to see how it feels and if they're able to 'stand up' immediately. I've never been tasered so I'm not sure what it feels like.
