Yup, this is it, but there is no mention of their package "Gear Audio" anymore. Maybe it has been integrated in their other product Gear Pro, I don't know. Thanks anyway!

Not true. The plextor UW version is the only cd-rom so far to have a 68pin UW connector. But there are no advantages there. It is not faster than the SCSI-2 unit (in fact it's even a little bit slower and had some issues when it came to DAE, allthough this may be fixed by now with a bios update)...

I won't convince you to get IDE. SCSI is WAY better. SCSI is not worth it's money anymore when it comes to harddisks, but whith CD-ROMs(writers)it's a different story alltogether. My experience is that SCSI CD-rom's and more specifically the plextors read everything you throw at them. They...

SCSI LVD Drive - needs a special controller card?

I believe some (most) LVD harddisks are capable of working in SE(non-LVD) mode. But to get them working in that mode you'll need to set a jumper on the drive. Which jumper differs drive by drive. Check your drive's manual or the PCB of the drive may have it printed on it. When you set this...

Difference between Sound Blaster Live 5.1 cards?

You are completely correct. Only difference you have when it comes to the board layout is that the retail cards have a spdif connector on them and the oem cards do not (that was the case with the live value cards, not sure when it comes to the 5.1 versions) Bye!

Iomega 8x4x32 does it support clonecd?

No. First of all the drive had to be capable of writing in RAM mode. If it can't do that cloneCD will not support it. It is true however that, once RAW is supported, clone CD also has to recognise the writer. But since cloneCD is permanently enhanced, this happens pretty fast. BYe!
