ATI launch party attendees say two months till R520

To me, generation means series, like Geforce 3,4, FX series, 6x00 series, etc. I wouldn't say the 5900 is from another generation then the 5800, it's more like a refresh, just like the X850 is to the X800. Just my 2 cents.

Monarch "quality service"

I've bought many times from them, since it's one of the few US stores that can ship in Canada while still having decent shipping costs. I never had any bad experiences. On probably 6 or 7 orders, I had to RMA some RAM only 1 time, and everything went just fine. Just my 2 cents.

Are these video card temps too high?

Well, those cards are known to get really hot. The VF-700 is a very good option, and should keep your card is the low 70s. If I don't manually set the fan of my x850xt @ 30-40% using Tray Tools, it gets in the low 90s area too.

20,296 with my rig (see sig). I had a lot of things running at the same time (that I can't close right now), I don't know if it would change anything tho.

X850XT issues...

Ditto. I'd suggest AT LEAST 400-420 Watts to run an X850XT, from a branded PSU unit, something among the lines of Antec, Fortron, Seasonic to name a few. There's probably 5 persons a day requesting help choosing a new power supply in the General Hardware forum, you can look for some advise there.

The exact same thing happened to me today, right after I installed the new drivers. At first I thought it was BF2 related, but I realized it was the first time I had that kind of crash.

1GB of RAM for a DFI Lanparty nForce4 Ultra-D

Use any good Value RAM. Even if it won't clock as high as your HTT, you can still use a divider for your RAM, so it won't be a limiting factor.
