Approximately how long until you think these Sis 755 boards will be out? If its like february or something im just gonna go and grab either the Asus or Abit K8 boards. Im currently running a REALLY crappy computer that is making me mad :/, so id like to get this thing built asap.
Thanks.
Thanks for all the help guys. After looking over the benchmarks some more i think im gonna go with the A64.
Now, what motherboard would you guys say is the best right now for A64 3000+? Or do i need to start a new thread for this?
It would be primarily gaming. Is mpeg-4 encoding the only thing Intel 2.8 beats the A64 3000+ at?
And as for the mobos, when are the second revisions due?
Thanks for the help guys, could still use a few more opinions though.
Well i had another thread on this but not many people responded...sooo trying again =)
So i had it all planned out, was going to buy a computer based on the intel 2.8C proc and Asus P4P800 Deluxe mobo. But now the A64 3000 came out, and according to the benchies it rivals the 3.2 and 3.0...
hehe thats a good point ;p
well then...could you recomend a motherboard for that processor? I dont know anything about AMD motherboards.
And, will the Geil pc3500 golden dragon ram i have work fine with this proc? Its what i was gonna get for my P4 setup.
Yea i understand right now is to have a fast 32 bit computer...but im also lookin to the future because this computer is gonna have to last for 1.5-2 years at least. So basically im just asking for your guys opinion on which one will perform the best in gaming and whati mentioned above right...

Ok, so i planned out my system i want to buy. I chose an Intel 2.8 and an Asus P4P800-D motherboard. This system has to last my for a while and i think this setup should. But then i saw the thread about the AMD Athlon 64 3000 at only like 220$. This is cheaper than the 2.8 Pentium proc and...
so, what are your guys opinions? should i try to gather some cash to get the radeon 9800 Pro? or the geforce fx5900 128mb version, it would be much more helpful if i could get the 128mb version and save the money, but if its that bad in dx9...it will be a waste in the future.
you think newegg will get it back in stock anytime soon? I would personally like to get all my parts from newegg if possible, but if for sure newegg is never getting those back i guess i could go with monarch.
