In what way are you guys using the term "Rendering"? Rendering in Real-time uses the GPU. Rendering a video 3D file uses the CPU.

Oh yeah. Anyone thing this would need watercooling? I'd really rather avoid that, but I'm looking at 2 xeon e5's + a GTX Titan... Would love some opinions on that as well. Many thanks to all the helpful folks here.

Any reason why you wouldn't go the Xeon route for this? That's what I'm looking at right now, and it's comparable price to the 3930K.

I don't actually know if it would benefit from GPU upgrades, but I'm also against that whole Fire/Quadro line of products. They're drivers always seem substandard for anything but video/rendering, and since I do a lot of real-time game development type work, I've had a hell of a time with them...

Thank you all for your answers. I'm giving UltraVNC and Logmein.com a look, as it seems that's my only option. New PC came with Win7 home on it, I should have figured MS would have removed anything useful. :( Thanks again!
