Are my HDtach scores about right for my system? HELP

Hummm, are those RAID benches? May be a little low, but I'm no expert. Here are my HDT benches, using two IBM 30GB, RAID0 w/IWILL-SIDE100RAID home.internetcds.com/~barbados/hdtach.jpg Why the difference?

P4T-E, P4 1.6G, 256M Mushkin RAMBUS, IWILL Side-100 RAID w 2 IBM 75GXP 30GB drives in RAID 0, + NIC + VIDEO + RAID card are all that is installed, WIN98OE. Runs great, fast start-up, etc. The problem is the shutdown. It doesn't. Goes to the windows splash screen saying windows is now...

Thanks, Mr. Wart for your quick reply and concise instructions! I had a feeling I had to wipe 0's, but wasn't sure. I guess one would say wiping 0's is the same as a Format, only deeper, yes? I saw the wipe pgm on IBM's site, but thought it said just for drives to 8GB, I'll go back and check...

a challenge! how do i power my 12 volt car amplifier off AC house current?

Buy a LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING TRANSFORMER...117VAC to 12VDC, rectify and filter it. You can get 100-600 watts. Don' think you'll really like the set-up but PM me if you want to know more.....

Clean it up and off!

Considering all the trouble I've been through, I'd use a 10% white vinegar solution, just like you'd use on windows and a SOFT CLOTH, not paper towels! Some manufacturer's coatings hold up to 409, others much less. If breath doesn't do it, try the vinegar.
