Safe to Download Drivers from 3rd Party?

Recently had a 240 GB Crucial M500 die on me and I need to replace. I'd like to have something comparable in speed and price ($150) with a bias to reliability... An thoughts? I was assuming cruicial is one of the most reliable drives... :|

How Do I Determine Which Drive My Partitions Are On?

How Do I Determine Which Drive My Partitions Are On?

Is there a way to tell an SSD failure from an HDD failure from clues in the error message. I'm assuming if it tells me on checkdisk that if there are "sectors" to repair, then it must be the HDD, yes? Because an SSD doesn't have "sectors", yes?

Hmmm... Not sure I'd trust myself to put a Laptop HD into another PC to read it... If I get the Laptop going again with the original boot disk, assumption is I'm no further along... Or am I?

Hibernate Problem with Laptop?

It looks like the BIOS detects the drive. In the Information menu, it displays a name and serial number for IDE0. This same name also displays in the boot priority menu as the first drive to boot to. If the BIOS didn't detect the drive, would this information be blank?
