I've searched around and I can't find anyone here that has gotten the Gskill 2x2gb DDR2 1000 (PC 8000) RAM to run at 1000mhz as rated.
Everyone is running them at 800, including me. I can't get mine to an even 1000mhz for some reason. Every time I try to change the frequency my options are...
I've been building PC's for about 5 years and I've always just used an old white T-shirt and a hint of water, maybe even spit at one time.
I've never had a CPU problem either :)
Alright this is the craziest mobo i've EVER messed with...
No where have I see a mobo that DOES NOT SUPPORT an optical drive via EIDE....
Not only does it not support it, no where have I seen in the Manual or on any website that it doesn't support it...
I read somewhere where this guy...
wow...would you guys believe me if I said that I went ahead and installed Windows on that other system using the new hdd I bought for this system (thats failing) then after windows finished I unhooked the hdd and plugged it all up to this new system with the ram mobo issue and windows loaded...
Alright well thx for the replies..
Here has what happened over the past week or so.
I RMA'd the mobo, got a brand new one 2 hrs ago and I STILL have the same problem. I'm pretty frustrated at this point.
I have tried using my Windows XP install disk on a completely new HDD on another...
Yes I have tried both sticks of ram that I have in different DIMM slots and it still just does the same thing.
But in that case could it be bad ram or a bad mobo?
What are the chances of me having 1 bad mobo vs. having 2 bad sticks of ram?
I've tried them all...i'm begining to think something is just flat out wrong with this board.
This is SO frustrating...should I just get different RAM or mobo or what??
If anyone can suggest some RAM that is decent quality, fast, etc... please feel free to post them.
Here is what I just...
I can't get any screenshots I cannot get windows to load, the only thing I can do is take pictures of the BIOS and post them which is what i'll do when I get home in the next couple hours.
There is a setting that has like 20 thru 42 for the ram which might be that TRFC setting you're talking...
Thanks for your replys they are helping; However I don't know much about memory timings. I know how to set them and the voltage I just don't know that if my main timings are 5-5-5-15 what to change it to or what not to change it to. And the same goes for the subsequent timings or the secondary...
I just bought this same ram like 4 days ago.
I get it and install it in this Asus P5N X38 mobo I just got, and it won't install windows. Pass POST just fine and then boot from CD but I get the blue screen of death after basic drivers load and it's about to boot into the Windows GUI setup...
I know...I didn't direct that comment toward you but more toward the guy that you quoted and to the general viewing audience :)
LCD's can have a nice picture just as DLP's and plasmas but you will almost always see ghosting/lag...it's just my personal perference...I can't stand them. It makes...
OLED is ridiculous right now...wait till the market catches up and of course like all technology in 3-5 years it will be a standard and cost just as much as a standard LCD does...
LCD is gargabe anyway...DLP (right now anyway) is the only way to go. Light passing through liquid (LCD) is...
Have you ever played a FPS on it?
If so, how is the response time?
I looked it up and noticed that it is 6ms..but if you have ever played an FPS game competitively or the same FPS for a very long time and then play on an LCD you WILL notice lag.
I don't think I've ever played on a 6ms...
