What contributes more to hard drive heat production?

passively cooled with minimal surface area allows minimal energy to cause a significant heating effect over ambient as well. It's not huge amounts of power that goes into HDs.

When will computer games look completely realistic?

I suppose it depends how much you expect of it, in many cases a lot of visuals are amazingly realistic. For humans, simply adding some blemishes to models made them far more acceptable. Rendering in real time however... I don't see it as impossible, but the human eye is SO discerning that it...

Strange Hum/Vibration Noise

I had an older gpu fan begin to make just such a sound, after the oil dried. Definitely sounds like some sort of fan issue, as above I'd go through component by component if its too hard to locate by sound.

Don't forget your body is typically fighting to hold on to its calorie stocks as well. I find my body never listens to what I want it to do :P

Remember when there was a valid reason to upgrade your CPU every 2 years?

specialization is a big thing. chips are cheap enough to dedicate to most uses, so whatever you need to do there is probably a card to do it. For most day to day uses our chips are so beefy that they barely feel a scratch.

Going to upgrade from C2D-E6550 to i5-4670. Will my mind be blown?

Mind. Blown. You. But seriously, the more CPU intensive things you run the more you will notice a difference. Day to day desktop stuff won't be so much.

iPhone 5s same screen size?

Might have other stuff in there. I know I carry a number of keys, wallet, phone, and my misc. of the day. Sometimes it gets crowded in there. (I use front pockets for everything, I don't want to be sitting on my stuff).
