I took a picture of a stick of PC2-3200 ECC I had laying around handy. I didn't tear any memory out of my htpc, which is running standard PC2-3200...

That is what I am thinking....I either got ECC or Registered DIMMs. I couldn't find anything definitive in my 10 minutes of Googling this morning.
To address the other posts, thanks first off:
- yes, it does say GX280 when I boot it up.
- yes, the 2 x 256MB dimms are PC2-3200...
I have a Dell GX280 and it has 2 256MB PC2-3200 dimms installed in it.
I purchased 2 1GB PC2-6400 dimms to upgrade it.
However, when I tried to install the dimm, they wouldn't fit.
I visually compared the two dimms and the notch is off by a 1/4" if that. Maybe 2 pins off when I you...

I am still doing various Google searches, but this type of information isn't readily available usually.
I am hoping some board members that...

In the evening, when I was drinking with my friends, I would light up and smoke a second pack within a couple hours.
I quit cold...

I have been looking around, but can't come up with any definite answers.
I am running a Biostart TForce 6100 socket 754 board w/ a mobile 2800+ in it. I was going to throw...
Here's the deal. I do the occasional computer cleanup when I need extra cash or for friends and family.
Whenever I bring in a strange computer to my network, I always yank the cable from the WAN port on my SonicWall router and plug the cable modem directly into the "stranger".
This is...
nLite is an awesome little utility for slipstreaming drivers and patches, etc.
Either look in the mobo box for a SATA driver floppy (sometimes included) or else make one quick.
Then, at the very beginning, make sure you hit F6 so that setup will ask you for a driver in regards to your...
As for the type of Raid array......I would go with either Raid 5 or 10 if possible (if you can afford a controller for it). That way you get the speed and reliability of Raid 0+1 but don't give up half the hdds to use as backups.
I've used WinXP for file serving and it does fine. I prefer...
I am typing this message from a Dell D600 laptop running Vista currently (12/20).
It is a little buggy still, I am looking forward to the next release in 06 to hopefully smooth out some of the explorer problems. Explorer crashed on me 4 times in the first hour I was using it this morning...
