So my Graphics Card exploded. Literally!

Heres an update for anyone curious. Bought a new GTX 660 with an EVGA set up. Everything is running fine. I have been monitoring voltage, temperature, and wattage, and everything is in the norms. Looks like it was the video card. Thanks for those who lent their opinion!

Honestly... I don't know. There is some kind of paint on the box that blew off when I sprayed it with a bit of duster, and it easily scrapped off using a finger nail. Sadly no Balrogs were found.

Unfortunately I would need to remove the third-party fan system to get a good picture, and I didnt have the proper screw driver to do that. I'll try and get one and get some pictures.

BSOD after BIOS Flash

Ok well I have no clue what to do. I was flashing the BIOS of my Asrock z68 Extreme 4 to 1.4, after the flash it restarts and right after I get to the windows screen the orbs swirl together for a second and then it BSODs. I decided to flash back to the original BIOS version I had from before...

1600 rated RAM running at 1333?

I have an i5-2500k and a Asrock Z68 Extreme 4, so I am pretty sure they are both good for 1600. This is mainly my gaming rig, so would the bump from 1333 give me a performance increase? I also have XMS Corsair RAM! Its just wierd that in SIW it shows up as 1333 and in the Windows Index it...

Help! Flash, Spark, and a Fizzle!?

Update: It looks to be running perfectly fine. Went on to install Starcraft 2 to test it out. Running on the Ultimate setting there was no problems. It seems I did indeed dodge a bullet. Will be MUCH more careful on my next build.

1600 rated RAM running at 1333?

It is? Ah ok. I was a little irked because I ran the Windows Experience Rater and it rated my memory at 5.9. Meanwhile in my old comp with 4gb DDR 2 800mhz memory it was at I believe 7.0. Just seemed very wierd. If its not that big of a difference I won't fiddle with it to much.

So I got my new system all running, yaya! Install a few programs to check everything is all good. I get around to SIW and notice that my RAM is running at 1333. I specifically remember ordering 1600, so I go to check the box, Invoice, and the sticker on the RAM to confirm its 1600. I go...

When OCing if you don't increase the voltage does that keep power consumption down? Would it be good to find an OC level where voltage increase is not necessary, as I know I can get that with the 560 Ti. And really I don't think I will OC the 560 ti to much as from what I've seen basic SLI 560...

How much lower would that be since I have an i5? From what I understand the i5 draws a lot less power then the i7? Though I do plan to OC the i5 a lil bit as my board has some pretty nifty built in OC presets.

Power Supply for SLI GTX 560 Ti

I currently have a 650W Corsair TX laying around. I think for now I will stick with the single card, as I know you can OC it to 570 levels. If I ever do jump to the SLI I'll probably upgrade to the 750W
