Replaced Router, faster speed?

did none of you actually look at the old router? it's based off a Broadcom BCM3302 @ 240MHz, 16MiB ram b/g wireless... it's stone age compared to his upgrade. 35Mbps is likely around it's maximum routing performance.

Slightly lower benchmarks with multi-monitors enabled?

more stuff to render = less spare computing power for benchmark. I run 3 monitors and in general I have to have lower settings than someone with a single monitor could get away with

Psu with really long cables?

what you want doesn't exist. generally the longest stock psu cabling you will find will top out at just short of 1m for the last SATA connector in a chain. your only choice is to use extensions. instead of moving the pc out of your case, wouldn't it be simpler to move the pc itself?

the manufacturer only guarantees 500W continuous with no guarantees on peak performance. as long as you don't trip (assuming correctly functional) OCP, you should be fine but it's definitely not recommended. from what I've seen, almost all "premium" (think seasonic, superflower, actual server...

keep in mind that the ultra cheap monitors have to cut costs somewhere. they'll either use a lower grade panel than the more premium (not always dictated by price) monitors or have to cut costs in supporting hardware (power supply, connectivity options, extraneous functionality, physical build...

so as an example, the corsair RMi1000 uses 16awg for it's 24-pin connector. 5 of those for 5v will give you 9awg 8 of them for ground will give you 7awg the primary reason to use smaller awg cabling is for flexibility to attain smaller bend radii. there is no electrical issue to using a single...

you should list out the rest of your computer. you'd need to be running like three+ video cards to really need 1kW+ supplies. a power supply will only consume as much energy as the computer it's connected to will draw minus conversion losses.

ditto. C226 is more workstation oriented though so you'd prolly end up C222 or C224 depending on cost (technically, some expandibility related performance but typically negligible)

my UTM is: i3 3220, 16GB ram, intel DQ77MK, nc360t, 2.5" 120GB leftover drive powered by a seasonic s12ii 620W (only spare psu I had so bleh pf and efficiency for this system). it consumes ~30W doing its typical job (obviously consumes more during startup, etc) with a PF of ~0.917 as measured...
