Single channel P4 chipset?

Hello, I am trying to help a friend upgrade the memory in his machine. Not sure what chipset he has, but he has 2 DIMM slots with a single 256MB DIMM in one of them. Is there such a thing as a single chan DDR chipset for the P4? If it's a dual chan board, I'll drop in 2x 512MB, but...

I got it too. The manager first said no, but then changed his mind. YMMV But, I am beginning to wonder if it is really such a good deal. (Even more so since I may have to fight to get the rebates redeemed...) Any opinions? -- David

nForce 4 Ultra: Serial ATA

Hello, I have the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra, and the manual says that I will need to hit F6 during the Windows XP setup to load drivers for the nForce 4 Serial ATA chipset if I will be installing to a Serial ATA drive. Is this true? Thanks, David

How to connect a ThermalTake 420W PSU to a VNF4 Ultra MB?

Yes, I realize that it will fit only one way if I use the 20-pin. But, I am wondering if I need to use the 20-->24 pin adapter that came with the PSU? -- David
