Display Problems Win98SE

Your monitor is not getting any video signal from the PC. I really doubt it has anything to do with the monitor, and I'm positive its is not a win98se problem. Sounds like you have set up something wrong when building the PC. Reseat all components, reset bios, double check jumper settings, etc...

VIA 4in1 drivers

Just bought an Epox 8KTA2 mobo and a voodoo 5500. Is it necessary to always install the 4in1 drivers, or are these only if you experience any problems? I am running Windows ME.

Radeon 64 (Awesome!!!) Geforce 2 GTS 64 (yawn...)

I bought a radeon 64 and I love it, but I really doubt there is all that much difference in the cards. In fact, if the V5 was available for $145 about a month ago I would have bought it instead. With new cards coming out every 6 months it makes more sense to get the best price/performance card...

ATI Radeon 64MB DDR

Another suggestion might be the Voodoo 5500. It isnt quite as good as the radeon, but you cant beat the current price/performance ratio. I saw it on mwave.com for about $175.

ATI Radeon 64MB DDR

I recently bought the retail 64mb radeon and I have not seen any shimmering effect on my trinitron. I also have no complaints about the 16 bit, the game I play the most is Half Life/Counterstrike and it looks incredible on my radeon.

Fixing shutdown problem??

I doubt this is causing the problem, but you could try the "shutdown supplement" patch on the windows update site. It was for win98se only. It was supposed to stop windows from hanging at the splash screen on shutdown.

Radeon + 230 W powersupply=problem?

I'm running a 64mb radeon and pIII 800@900 with no problem with my old 235 watt supply.

Did I fry my mobo?

Doesn't sound good, see if there is a jumper to reset the mobo, maybe its clock settings are messed up. Also try rmoving everthing but mem, vid card, and old proc. Re-seat parts too. All longshots, but you never know.

Need motherboard recommendation

Can someone recommend a good board for intel chips. I have a friend who wants me to build him something with a medium budget so I'm looking for good price/features ratio. The chip will probably be a p3 ppga, but I'm open for suggestions if someone thinks slot 1 is better (prob doesn't matter now...

I don't care about seeing 3d wizards fly across my screen, I want a good cheap video card!

Id you dont care about games, check out the ati expert98 8mb on that same site, its only $37. b.t.w. I buy all my stuff from them (mwave.com), they have great prices and customer service.

ADirect X 8 will release within 48 hours. hopefully i'll see true power of Radeon.

What is the big deal, I haven't had a single problem with my radeon drivers. I would rather have one working driver to choose from than trying to pick which one of the weekly leaks from NVIDIA, each with its own set of bugs(ooops, I mean "features"). How long will it take them to get...
