    Do you need more than 1024*768 on a laptop? Poll

    I've got a compaq presario 1700T with the 14" 1024x768 and its great. If you can afford a laptop with a higher resolution (like the dell 8100 with 64mb vid.. drooooooool..) then definetly go for it.. but 1024 is definetly fine for laptops.
