Thanks, I have my Sapphire hd6850 for more than a decade now and am really impressed with its longevity, hence my thoughts about the Pure, but the Hellhound seems very popular these days. No coil whine, I suppose? The Gigabyte is a good deal money wise, but I wonder if it's worth it....

I hope VRM cooling is not a big deal nowadays, because an AIO radiator on rear should be a hot thing very close to the vrm heatsink (then again I have never seen an AIO up close), while an air cooler blows hot air directly on it. It gets more and more clear that a 120mm AIO on rear is frowned...

Best NAS for a good price?

As the owner of an Asustor, I can't exactly recommend them. Pretty sturdy equipment for a great price, but the apps and the knowledge base are awful.

Powerline too good to be true?

So I connected my gigabit router to a gigabit switch through powerline adapters, using cat6 wherever a cable was needed. That switch feeds my Nvidia Shield android box. I pay for 30 mbps internet. When I run ookla's speedtest on my Shield box... it says 29 mbps. I mean... Sure, it sounds...

Holy crap AC wifi is BLAZING!

Thanks for sharing, my house setup is basically like yours, but my HTPC is an old 802.11b/g, 10/100 laptop with Powerline. Your numbers bring hope to my miserable TV streaming experience.

Would these devices benefit from a dual band N router?

Good, let's see what 802.11a can do then. Now, as AC is on the verge of approval, would it be worthwhile to put more than $100 on a dual band N router right now? Or something cheaper and more simple would be better as a waiting-for-AC router?

And is it worthwhile to deal with A nowadays? Or 5ghz N adapters are mandatory for something decent on dual band? Or forget 5ghz adapters and just get a 5ghz Access Point to connect to dual band router? I thought buying a router was easier...
