ATCS 840 Question

For the external 3.5" bay, can you put an internal hard disk in it and leave the coverplate on? Or is there no room for the plate if you put in a drive? Thanks.

Hard drive inaccessible

I had thought that the drive was fine and that there was only a problem because the eSATA controller somehow corrupted it or something along those lines, but it does seem like it's the drive now that you mention it. I'll unplug it until I get the new drive and then attempt to recover the data.

JMB363 & 2 PATA HDDs

thanks for leading me down the right path. fixed it by installing the latest driver from the JMicron site. Wasn't used to doing things that way after relying on windows update for a while. The driver install didn't go smoothly though... got a BSOD on the first 3 or 4 reboots after installing...

Nothing explicitly says JMicron in the device manager, though the dvd drive that is also controlled by the JMicron controller works fine.

8800GTS Defective?

maybe download GPUz and check the specs to see if everything is reported correctly. I installed my gts in the wrong pci-e slot by mistake when I first got mine, so the bus speed was only 4x instead of 16x.
