Will having 4 sticks of RDRAM decrease OCing potential as opposed to 2 sticks??!?!

x86 you ask, you get an answer, then you doubt the answer??? WTF??? it is common knowledge that larger sticks and/or full population of all dimm slots limits clocking. just go to a few forums and start reading. baldy

my xp 1900+ got FRIED!!! :|

wrong mounting of 8045. have you removed the motherboard and checked the mounting, that is really the only way to check it? I mount my MC462 before it goes in da box (duh, you have to, same for the 8045), then look with back lighting to make sure a nice FLAT attachment has been achieved. as...

HDD Light stays on constantly

here is a tip, take it for what it's worth. make the new drive your master for the OS, it will help with the speed. configure your setup as follows. seagate>pri master DVD rom>pri slave then for the secondary ide put the maxtor and the burner, whatever order you want. leave the rest 'as is'...

best way to OC 1900+?

12x153 here with a brand new 1900+, mc462 as the cooler. very smooth and very fast. i can get more, but the sucker will do spontaneous reboots @155FSB, might be the 5 volt leg. i am going to keep trying for the 155FSB, oh, this is with a full gig on DDR occupying all slots on an 8kha+. my...

WindowsXP Pro not seeing Maxtor 60 Gig

was it the boot drive in whatever setup it came from??? then you swapped it without changes to be just another hard drive for storage and retrieval purposes, i am assuming??? could be that fact that XP is not happy at all with the config you brought over on that drive. something to consider...

How to reformat C: drive with WinXP Pro installed and using NTFS partition?

get disk manager for your particular hard drive, format and partition in fat 32. set bios to boot to CD, stick in XP CD, install, opt for the choice to convert your main partition to NTFS, install, then when done, just convert the other partitions to NTFS within XP before you install anything...

Did I do something really stupid (arctic silver II)?

Arctic Silver=conductive. If in the wrong spot, it will trash a CPU the instant you fire up the system. Silver=metal metal=conductivety conductivity=bad juju of on the wrong spot. dispite what their website says, the compound is conductive. i have a box full of cpu's that took the full brunt...

That is the last straw!!! I am going back to Windows 2000!!!!!

XP is a b.tch, for sure, but when you finally get her right, very nice. It took me months to get a cheap sheetfed scanner solution worked out, even after getting the discontinued Storm USB scanner. Found some beta drivers for win2k/xp and forged on, now working flawlessly, best $39 solution...

Oh NO!! An 8KHA+ that's refusing to boot!

mebbe you should consider the 250 is not cutting it powerwise. i just did a volt mod on my pc power and cooling 425 watter, an older model, about three years old, by simply opening the p/s then adjusting the pots for a bit more juice upon delivery. amazing results. my 5 and 12 volt rails...
