Sorry I left everyone hanging. Since the project kind of petered out with little fanfare, I didn't make a big deal out of it and didn't bother taking good photos or anything. But I've been using the case daily for a long time now. Here are some pics (dark, sorry):

Unfortunately I've had a number of stumbling blocks and my motivation has taken a beating.
I got the design working reasonably well, shortly after which Ponoko discontinued the 5.2mm bamboo I was using. I was then forced to either choose the 2.7mm bamboo ply, which is slightly more expensive...
A peak of 60C is really nothing to spend money on "fixing" unless it is causing other problems, like excessive noise or limiting overclocking, neither of which you mention as issues.
I've considered that too. But where are the people who grew up playing FFX? I never see them anywhere. Is there some sort of generation gap that keeps me from frequenting the same discussion sites as them? Or have console RPGs objectively gone into decline?
Probably Xenogears.
FF6, FF7, and Chrono Trigger tie for second place.
I'm playing FF7 on PSP now. I'm so pissed that a bunch of Square PSX RPGs got released on PSP in Japan but not in the US.

And even if I increased the thickness of the case to make it work, right angle cables still won't fit because the right angle runs into the wood, not into the inner space. (The drive bottoms are facing the outside of the...
Version 3 should arrive in the mail soon. It only had a few tweaks to the tabs/slots to make them less prone to breakage when they go against the grain.
Here is an image of it, sans front panel (which hasn't really changed):
The hard drives are definitely tight, and right angle cables are a...
Interesting comparison, though it's worth noting that the NT07-AM2 is completely different from the 775/1156 versions.
I really wish the Gelid had a 1156 version.
Yeah but once you add a 10mm fan it'll be the same thickness as the Silverstone and probably won't be nearly as effective (it is designed for servers with lots of very loud fans). Add a regular 25mm fan and it'll be 50mm which is even bigger than the stock cooler.
Yes the stock i3 cooler is...
