I would hope it's better odds, I don't think dell sends out over 100 million of these mailers. I could see maybe a million or so however... I would bet there is more then one $5000 code also...
I have a mrbulk (from CPF) VIP that uses a 3 watt luxeon and a single CR123A cell... super bright (battery has lasted hours for me so far too), almost as bright the 5 watt luxeon(SNII) I bought from him that uses 6 AAs(which also eats batteries like no tomorrow)...
I doubt the led in this is...

There are too many versions of this out, I had the very 1st one. Another one came out sold my copy, got that one, then another one came out... then this one... with this price drop makes me think another version is coming out? damn are they milking it...

It was $279+$20s&h, so you're really only getting about 10 bucks off from a few days ago... Still beats the dell deal since they don't charge tax in most states....
so things really sound like they are coming behind you? I personally don't care much about the quality, I know it's gonna suck... I've got some sony mdrv6s that aren't bad...
onenutt have you ever used the zalman 6s?
