Prevent users from installing firefox?

We do have a few workstations that have "abnormal" folders. One example is payroll software, which requires the user to have read and write access to that folder. For those computers I have removed local admin rights for the users, and added read and write access to just that specific folder...

I could send a company-wide email, but new employees wouldn't get this notice unless I send this email out every week! I'm sure upper management, including everyone else, wouldnt like being threatened all the time. Our user accounts have already been limited, no one has local admin access...

Markbnj, you hit the nail right on the head! I defintely dont want to be the assigned as a QA tester or having the task of reworking all the code to work with multiple browsers. And it's not my place to be telling the dev team what they should be doing. I will suggest to them browser checking...

I have tried using group policy to block firefox.exe, but after I renamed it to firefox2.exe, it still loaded. My reason, as the desktop support side, for likeing IE7 (aside from the developers' reasons), is that my WSUS server automatically installs security updates for IE7, but I still see...

I don't need to turn off USB ports on each computer. Since each user logs on as a guest, their USB drive won't be installed because they don't have local admin access to install new hardware. And thank you blurredvision for noticing that is it an internal application!

Screen Resolution for 14" LCD

Hi everyone, I'm planning on buying a Thinkpad T60 with a 14" screen, and saw that the screen resolution only comes in 1024x768 or 1400x1050. Is 1400x1050 too small for a 14" monitor? I'd rather not turn up the font size. Thanks for your input!

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Discontinued?
