ID of motherboard

I have a Dell Dimension L500r system. I am trying to upgrade it for a friend. However, I need to know the form factor of the motherboard. I know that it's a Intel 810e chip. I can't tell though what brand motherboard it is, so I can find the manual for it. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate an ID.

Intel v. AMD question

My dad is looking into upgrading his system. I am telling him to go with AMD while his friend is saying Intel. He'd probably go with the AMD 1.1 Ghz tbird or the 1.0 ghz tbird from AMD. Then the PIII he'd probably get the 933. He's not looking to spend _too_ much money. My question is, what...

Network on LINUX ?

You'll need to describe with more details. The description you give isn't helpful. Are you having a hard time interfacing with the ethernet card, can't run DHCP? What?

Dual boot NT4 and RedHat 7

Just make sure that when you fdisk in Linux, that you don't touch the first drive. Considering its an IDE...you'll want to tell Linux's fdisk to not touch /dev/hda and format /dev/hdb Good luck!!!

Comments on the hardware specs?

I am building my friend a new computer shortly. It's going to be mainly a gaming system. I'm curious what people think of this configuration, and what should be changed. I don't want to see the price go up too much more. Athlon T-bird 1Ghz 256MB-133 DIMM ASUS A7V133 133A mobo SB Live! Value...

Linux 2.4 distro?

No distros have 2.4.0 out yet. Expect to see them soon. It'll be an option. The distros will probably default to 2.2.x and then let you install 2.4.0 if you'd like. Expect SuSE 7.1 to be one of the first. Red Hat isn't due for a distro till March or so. It's quite possible that Slackware...
