Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 board for new build?

I'm looking at the Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 (~$160) for my new build, as I don't really need a lot of the extra features on their 'gaming' boards. Looking to pair it with 16 GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport (~$109). It's been years since the upgrade bug bit...still running my Core 2 Duo Conroe!

Borderlands 2 release date and preorder

I have a minor issue with the video on the game. I'm still using an older Radeon 4870 and the game runs fine....but I get these "sparklies" on the edges of guns, mountains, etc.... Not sure how else to explain it...they look like little flickering pixels of light. I upgraded to the latest...

Need Recommendations

I'm in the same boat as you Joe....upgrading from an E8400. The CPU, memory and cooler you picked are my choices as well. I'm waiting on the mobo, as it seems they were all rushed to market. What I really want is the Gigabyte board, but I can't figure out why they didn't include uEFI. I'm...

Gigabyte P67A-UD4 review, anybody using this board? please comment!!

I'm leaning towards this board as well, though I'm kinda pissed they didn't go with the uEFI BIOS.

Windows XP Prompts user for a password...

Try start -> run -> control userpasswords2 and make sure "users must enter a username and password" is still unchecked.

Crucial Ballistix PC-8000

Assuming a mild overclock that will not max out either set, how would these compare to the DDR2-800 Ballistix at 4-4-4-12? Would the tighter timings make any noticeable difference?
